The Moving to New Orleans LaunchPad is a support program for new and hopeful residents of New Orleans looking for a fresh start in the city. Reserve your safe, affordable home in New Orleans in ADVANCE so that your move to our city is seamless.  Take it easy while you explore the city, search for employment and we will even help you find your next home. 

All you do is save $3,000 and prepay for your reservation for 2 months ($1500 per month). You get a furnished 2 bedroom/1 bathroom shot gun home to jumpstart your new life in New Orleans! All utilities are included, as well as a washer/dryer, wifi and private parking space Compare to AirBNB prices at $2400 per month!

As soon as you save your reservation fee you should apply and choose your dates. Do not apply with less than 2 weeks advance notice because you are staying in Te-Erika’s home and she needs time to plan her get away so that you can stay there. If you must apply with less than 2 weeks notice, you may be assessed a RUSH fee of $500 or more. 

Yes, up to 4 new residents may use this short term rental as their LaunchPad for New Orleans. Be mindful that this is a traditional shotgun home so there is little privacy. 

We will never ask for the reservation payment unless the LaunchPad is available and reserved for you. Scroll down to the payment options on this page and select Application Fee. Pay the application Fee and a registration form will be sent to you. You must list all residents on your application. New residents may not be added after the application is submitted. You must also indicate a move-in date. This date can be firm or flexible. Once your registration form has been submitted you will hear back from us  about your approval status and move-in date. Once those are settled, you will then be asked to send in your payment within 48 hours. Once payment is received you will have a brief Zoom interview with the landlord or property manager to introduce yourself. After your interview an offer to sign the short term lease will be sent and must be signed. 

No. It guarantees your place on our wait list. We offer our spaces on a first come first serve basis. When we get to your name we will contact you to offer you a spot. You must make your payment within 48 hours or we move on to offer the space to the next applicant. When you pay the advance rental fee, your reservation is reserved. 

The only way you can lose your place on the Wait List is when we call to see if you are available, you do not make your payment within 48 hours. To rejoin the Wait List you will have to pay another application fee.

If you pay the rental fee and later decide not to move before you move in, you will be refunded HALF of the rental fee if we find a new tenant to take your place. Your reservation reserves your space and no one can bump you from the list because we book dates after your reservation has ended. 

Utilities include electricity, trash, water & sewer and wifi. 

No deposit required unless you have pets. 

Pets are allowed on a case by case basis. Each allowed pet is subject to a $100 non refundable pet deposit. 

The apartment is furnished with one bed and one pull out sofa and has linens, towels and most kitchen accessories. Bring your suitcase and any special toiletries. Once you run out of paper items it is your responsibility to replenish them for your own use. 

Our Moving to New Orleans LaunchPad is located in Gentilly on a very quiet street filled with friendly New Orleans locals. It is less than 3 miles to the French Quarter and 2 miles from the Lake. Most people in Gentilly are homeowners. 

No parties allowed. No large animals. No drug use or smoking inside the property. No discharging weapons or selling anything from the property.

Once your reservation is confirmed, Te-Erika will make travel plans for the duration of your stay. She will book a return flight back to New Orleans for the date you are confirmed to leave so an extension to stay longer is not available.

Once you become a member of the New Orleans LaunchPad Program your arrival will be announced publicly on all of our platforms and you can use this announcement to introduce yourself and/or your business. You can promote yourself, ask people to follow you on social media and we will assist you in every way we can to get you plugged into the community here in New Orleans.
